My Weekend in Puerto Vallarta!

Hi guys,I hope everyone is doing well!

If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I spent my weekend in Puerto Vallarta, Jaslisco! When I tell you this place was BEAUTIFUL, like there are almost no words to describe it.

Despite it being rainy season and forecasts of rain from all news stations, the weather was perfect the entire time we were there. The sunny days made the views even better.

I flew in on a Thursday (Thanks to a flight courtesy of my job), and I stayed until Sunday morning. Sidenote: A flight from Austin, Texas to Puerto Vallarta is only $470 which actually costs less than a flight from Austin, Texas to Chicago at the time!

For the first three days, I stayed with my friends at Villa Tita. The Villa was literally perfect. It was situated right in the mountains so we could see the beaches and ocean from our balconies. The Villa was also ALL-INCLUSIVE and complete with a chef, maid, and concierge staff. The concierge staff took our meal requests every day to prepare for the next day, the chef set the table and served us all of our meals, and the maid made sure we had clean rooms to come back to after our excursions. We didn’t have to lift a finger which was perfect because we had more time to enjoy ourselves. We booked this villa through, and it ran us about $800 a night. It was definitely worth every cent of the price. I would suggest staying at Villa Tita or somewhere similar if you are traveling with a large group. There were 6 beds with in-suite bathrooms in each. For a small group, it would definitely be too much space, and I’m sure there are smaller Villas that would be much more comfortable.

Here are some photos from the Villa Tita:

Since we weren’t in Puerto Vallarta for long, we only planned out two excursions in addition to going out at night. On Thursday after my arrival, we literally went on the boat ride FROM HELL. We rented out a yacht, but apparently, there was some miscommunication. We wanted to lounge on the boat, have some drinks, and lay out; however, we couldn’t even do that because the captain took us out to the middle of the ocean where the waves were SO intense. I literally almost fell off the boat. Actually, my life jacket fell off the boat in and into the ocean before I even had a chance to put it on! Luckily, our concierge staff was able to get us a full refund because we had a terrible time.

Friday was MUCH better and the highlight of our trip. Our concierge set up an ATV ride through the mountains. Since I’m a terrible driver, I rode with my friend and let her do the navigating. We rode through the city, villages, and then up through the mountains. We made two stops, and we had a photographer who took photos of us along the way. We eventually stopped at a restaurant and waterfall where I did my first ever cliff dive. It was so exhilarating. After cliff diving, we had a quick tequila tasting before heading back in. We tried 8 differerent tequilas local to Puerto Vallarta. This ride was very eye-opening because we saw the stark contrast of the city. We went from Villa Tita to areas where families were selling fruits/ veggies in front of their homes. However, these people looked so happy so it’s just a reminder to be content in all circumstances!

On Saturday, I was the last man standing, and I checked into my hotel the Marriott at Puerto Vallarta. I stayed in the hotel for free because of my rewards points I gained through my job, and I was given a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite because of my Gold Elite status. At check-in, I was given several vouchers for free cocktails and wine. The room was a nice size especially for me because I was all alone. Although I was on the second floor, the view was still great because I was facing the pool and beach. For dinner Saturday night, I ordered a New York Steak that came with potatoes and vegetables with a strawberry cheesecake for dessert. The meal was good, and also only $18.00!

Puerto Vallarta definitely stole my heart, and I do see myself visiting again in the near future. The views, the food, and the people were all amazing. I literally have no complaints about the trip besides the terrible boat ride!
